The University of San Francisco's Graduate Degrees are founded on a tradition of Jesuit excellence in education dating back to 1855.
USF's History of Education
The University of San Francisco was founded in 1855 as San Francisco's first university. As a Jesuit university USF shares a 450 year tradition, with 27 other Jesuit universities in the U.S., of academic excellence and commitment to educating the whole person. USF's 8,000 students come from throughout the United States and from over 70 foreign countries. Fifty thousand living alumni include Pulitzer prize winners, leading local and national political figures, and CEOs of major corporations.
Students attend graduate classes at our 55 acre campus in San Francisco and at our branch campuses in Sacramento, Santa Rosa (North Bay) , San Jose (South Bay) , and Pleasanton. The USF Sport Management program is also offered in Southern California.
